For most of you that have found yourself to this site, you’ve either been on my trips or about to go on one of my trips. My name is Zhiyu Lai, and I started all these snowboarding/ski trips back in 2002. It all started when I setup a group trip with some of my friends and saw that I could get a bit of a discount that way. I extended the discount to everyone else in the group, and told everyone in the group to invite others if they wanted a discount. I started with a group of 20 people, and from those 20 people, it has expanded to over thousands of people.

I always figured that if I can get everyone a discount, and get people out onto the slopes to try a new sport in the winter rather than staying in and watching tv, why not right? I do this as a side business and always try to get as many people out as possible. With group rates, it makes it even more attractive and more fun. You get to meet people, and even see people that you haven’t seen in years. I see it as a way to reconnect as well. I always get emails telling me that they saw someone on one of my trips that they haven’t seen since HS or college.

I started of skiing back in HS, then moved over to Ski Blades in college. After a few years of ski blades, i went over to snowboarding and have stuck with it since. Sometimes I contemplate on going back to skiing to try it out again since i was never that good at it, but equipment costs are just so expensive these days. I love snowboarding still, and try to advance in the sport every chance I get. As I get older, it gets harder. I used to have no fear and get hurt and get right back up, but now, I get hurt and it takes longer to get up..hahaha. I have to think about if I’m able to go back to work the next day. lol.

After all the years of doing everything on email (which is still going to happen), and having people always ask if I have a web page, I’ve finally decided to put up a simple web page for people to use. I will have updates on the page regarding trips and spaces available rather than going back and forth with thousands of emails each time, and people wondering what the status is on their rooms. I will try to make this as user friendly as possible.
